Leading the way
Matthew Rutter (Left)
Founder and President
Matt has been an avid basketball fan ever since his parents installed a hoop in the family's front yard. Matt's (and Todd's) first foray into volunteering as a coach was with the Challenger Program, teaching physically and developmentally challenged kids on Sunday mornings. You could say it all started there. Matt is a CPA and has been with EY, a professional services firm, since 2006. He is a senior manager in the firm’s Fraud Investigation and Dispute Services practice. He graduated from Penn State University in 2006, and earned his MBA from Columbia University in 2013.
Todd Burach (Right)
Founder and Chairman of the Board
Todd is a 2007 graduate of Syracuse University, where he was a Big East Scholar Athlete and a member of Coach Boeheim’s back-to-back Big East championship teams. He went on to become team captain of the gold medal winning Team USA at the 2011 Pan American Maccabi Games in Sao Paolo, Brazil. Todd completed his MBA in 2012 at New York University’s Stern School of Business and is currently a Vice President, and Senior Relationship Manager at City National Bank. He is an active mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC, winning the 2009 Corporate Mentor of the Year Award.
Griffin, a 2013 graduate of Syracuse University, had a record of 121-18 in his 4 years as a member of the Orange Men's Basketball Team, the winningest class in Syracuse History. He was a Senior Captain of the 2013 Final Four team in Atlanta, GA. Griffin was an Orange Scholar Athlete each of his four years, graduating with a business degree from the Whitman School of Management. Griffin currently works at Somerset Partners, a private equity real estate investment firm in New York City, as Director of Business Development. Griffin gives back through his love of basketball and his talent for team building.
Charles Lerner (Right)
Charles Lerner is a 2014 Syracuse Grad, and (might be) the biggest fan of the Orange around. Basketball has always been an instrumental part of his life. While in college, he managed the Syracuse basketball team; a tenure that included the 2013 run to the Final Four. With a mother who is a speech pathologist, he was inspired to contribute to community development. Charles works in business development at Appboy.
